World Tour : Sardine Run June 2012
You're Out There..
Aliwol Shoal - Nov 30th 2010 : 1pm, sitting in the sunshine with a steak & salad on order,
Steve was writing up his dive log for the morning dive on our first day at Aliwol...
After the usual exciting RiB launch we went snorkelling with dolphins on the way out to Cathedral Hole - Cool !
Whilst we were kitting up a Manta swam under the boat - then a Humback Whale with her Calf gave us a wave with her tail - only 20m away.
The descent landed us on the Hole - with a dozen or so Sandtiger sharks - all swimming around us less than a metre away.
From the Hole we let the drift take us - accompanied by a large Hawksbill turtle - and through a shoal of devil rays !
On the safety stop we were circled by a small Hammerhead - and then on the way back into shore we snorkelled with 5 WhaleSharks.
This Diving in South Africa - it's crap isn't it ?
And that was ALL in one morning...

Sunday gives you a chance to catch your breath and drive to Port St.Johns - everything so far has just been a warm-up for the main event : Monday-Friday 5 days on "THE RUN".
- Quite simply the most stunning wildlfie experience possible underwater.
One of the planets most famous migrations with billions of sardines being chased by Thousands (seriously no exaggeration here) of Dolphins - and for every Dolphin there's a Shark... and then there's the Whales.
Last time we did this trip we saw a fur seal busily hunting through a bait ball - right infront of the camera...
only to turn round and find a Great White swimming behind us.... JUST INCREDIBLE !!!!
