Saturday, 07 Nov 2015
Outbound flight from London Heathrow at 11:25am on Singapore Airlines for a brief 90mins stopover in Singapore to stretch our legs, then onwards to Cebu in the Philippines.
Malapascua
Arriving in Cebu on Sunday 8th Nov, we will be met and transferred by minibus & dive-boat to our first resort in Malapascua; a small island situated approx 7 kilometres north-east of Cebu on the Pacific rim. With Clear blue tropical waters and white sandy beaches, this is divers paradise.
Malapascua is known as one of the best shark diving locations in the Philippines. Diverse species of sharks seen here include whitetip, blacktip, bamboo, nurse, hammerheads, and of course the magnificent THRESHER SHARKS. Monad Shoal just off Malapascua is known as the only place in the world where threshers can be closely observed on a daily basis. Other large pelagic wildlife seen on Monad include Manta & Devil Rays, with an impressive array of Nudibranch, pipe fish and FrogFish will keep macro photographers happy. November is a great month to visit, with regular Manta sightings and (virtually) guaranteed Thresher shark encounters.

Ocean Vida Beach & Sea Explorers Dive Resort
7 nights, 6 days of diving (up to four dives/day Mon-Sat)

Located on Bounty Beach, this small modern property is an ideal place to base ourselves for the first week whilst we head out to Monad Shoal in search of thresher sharks. The 20 room property  is on the beachfront; we are on B&B basis in standard garden view rooms with modern but simple facilities including en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning. Upgrade to sea-view rooms are available.
There is a great little restaurant and of course a bar for rehydration purposes…

The Sea Explorers dive centre is on-site. Up to four boat dives are offered on a daily basis.
Early morning boat trips head to Monad Shoal for thresher shark encounters.
Other dive sites offer a great range of macro, wreck, cave and wall diving. Nitrox is available.

Sunday, 15 Nov 2015
We depart Malapascua today and head south to our next resort in Dauin, Dumaguete.
This is a big day of travel by road and boat, where we will get to see the countryside and lifestyle of the Philippines on route to the next fantastic destination :

Dumaguete
Known as the ‘City of Gentle People’, we’ll be welcomed in Dumaguete with open arms and first class hospitality. Underwater, we’ll be amazed by the reef life and the Dauin area is possibly one of the best macro locations around. We will also head off to Apo Island a short cruise away, with great potential to find schooling pelagic, turtles, enormous groupers, napoleon wrasse, whitetip sharks and pristine hard corals.

Pura Vida Beach & Dive Resort
6 nights, 5 days of diving (up to four dives/day Mon-Fri*)

A spacious beachfront resort built for divers, located in Dauin, just south of Dumaguete, on Negros Island. We are in standard rooms with en-suite & AirCon on B&B basis. Upgrades to suites with cable TV and sea-views are available. The resort features a swimming pool, beach restaurant, pool bar and a Spa. WiFi internet access is available throughout the resort.
The on-site dive centre is operated by Sea Explorers (PADI CDC) who offer daily boat dives throughout the year both locally and to nearby Apo Island. Nitrox is available.
*Note that on the last day we will only get morning dives due to the flight the next day.
