South Ari Atoll ~ Sun Island 5* Resort
The Maldives archipelago is made up of 1190 islands, (with only 200 inhabited) located on the equator, forming a wide submarine mountain chain born 2000 million years ago, with beautiful coral reefs on its crest. Stretching 820km from north to south and 120km from east to west, the total surface is 90.000sqm but emerged lands are only 0.3%.
The diving in the Maldives is a wonderful experience with regular sightings of large marine species such as Manta Rays, Sharks and Whale Sharks. Depending upon the season, Manta Rays and Whale Sharks will move around the atolls but itineraries can be changed according to the specific diving objectives of the group.
Sun Island is set in the magnificent island of Nalaguraidhoo, 62 miles from the Male' airport, it is the most breathtaking and picturesque island in South Ari Atoll.
Transfers from the airport to Sun Island are by Seaplane (40 mins) or fast ferry (2.5 hours). The resort is too far from the airport to use the speed boat facility

Water Bungalows
A wooden jetty leading out over the lagoon takes you this luxurious accommodation. All Water Bungalows are built on stilts in the lagoon overlooking the vast horizon of either the sunrise or sunset view, from your private deck. Accommodation offers air-conditioning, hot & cold desalinated water, hair dryer, bidet, bath tub, mini bar, electronic safe, private sun deck, private stair case to the lagoon, satellite TV with in-house movies, internet access and IDD telephone.

If you like seafood, you'll love the fresh prawns, reef fish and lobsters from the fascinating Sun Star, Thai Lagoon Restaurant facing the stars and the ocean. If you like a classic romantic dinner, you'll find many favourite selections from the "Al Pontile" (The Jetty), Italian restaurant facing the house reef. In Sun Island you will be spoilt for choice!

Diving
The dive centre at the Sun Island Resort is 'The Little Mermaid'. This is a great facility offering divers the opportunity to dive in over 40 locations. Diving usually starts at 8.00am and finishes by 1-2pm (2 dives) so you can enjoy the rest of your day. They also offer afternoon dives (one dive)so it is possible to do 3 dives per day if desired or have a rest in the morning and only dive in the afternoon. Three times per week the centre offers night diving opportunities. They can teach an assortment of PADI courses and have great storage facilities for dive gear.
Other Water Sports
The Water Sports Center of Sun Island is located on the East Side of the island. Rental facilities are available and English-speaking instructors are on-hand if lessons are required.

Flights / Transfers / Accommodation (Half Board – Twin Share) for 15 nights is £1300. Accommodation on Twin Share - Full Board basis is £1450, All Inclusive is £1850.
There are 2 Dive-Pack options : £765 for 12 days unlimited diving including boat trips and night dives, or a basic shore-dive package of 10 dives for £290 (add £12 per dive for boat trip upgrade).
