FOUR DEEP dives,
to reach a maximum depth of
40metres, providing experience under
close professional supervision to
expand your awareness of the
techniques and potential hazards of
deep recreational diving.
You’ll become familiar with special
equipment used when deep diving, and
practice the skills required to make
emergency decompression stops.
You’ll incorporate deep stops upon
ascent to increase safety, and use
delayed Surface Marker Buoys (SMBs)
to aid control. You’ll plan multi
level profiles to extend
intermediate depth dive times, and
you’ll work out your breathing rates
to ensure adequate air/nitrox
supply.
The emphasis is on planning and
conducting safe dives, whilst
enjoying the adventure of going
deeper than most other recreational
divers… with many principles being
drawn from technical dive training –
the PADI Deep Specialty is
potentially a step towards DSAT Tec
Deep diving.
