1. General Agreement
By renting scuba diving equipment from Blue Ocean Diving (hereinafter referred to as “the Dive Centre”), the customer (hereinafter referred to as “the Renter”) agrees to abide by the following terms and conditions. These terms are legally binding, and the Renter is responsible for reading and understanding them before signing the rental agreement.

2. Eligibility to Rent
2.1 The Renter must be at least 18 years old or provide written consent from a parent/guardian if under 18.
2.2 The Renter must present valid proof of scuba diving certification (e.g., PADI, BSAC, SSI, or equivalent).
2.3 The Renter must provide a valid form of identification (passport, driving licence, etc.).

3. Condition of Equipment
3.1 All equipment is inspected and maintained regularly by the Dive Centre to ensure it is in good working order.
3.2 The Renter agrees to inspect the equipment upon collection and report any visible damage or defects before use.
3.3 The Renter is responsible for ensuring the equipment is suitable for their intended use and dive plan.

4. Use of Equipment
4.1 The Renter agrees to use the equipment only for scuba diving purposes and in accordance with all relevant safety standards and diving regulations.
4.2 The Renter must not modify, alter, or repair the equipment under any circumstances.
4.3 The Renter must not allow any third party to use the rented equipment.

5. Responsibility and Liability
5.1 The Renter assumes full responsibility for the care and safe use of the equipment during the rental period.
5.2 The Renter agrees to return the equipment in the same condition as it was rented, excluding normal wear and tear.
5.3 The Renter is liable for any loss, theft, or damage to the equipment, including the cost of repair or replacement.
5.4 The Dive Centre is not responsible for any injury, accident, or damage arising from the use of the rented equipment. The Renter agrees to use the equipment at their own risk.

6. Rental Period
6.1 The rental period begins when the equipment is collected and ends when it is returned to the Dive Centre.
6.2 Late returns will incur additional charges as per the Dive Centre’s pricing policy.

7. Payment and Security Deposit
7.1 Full payment of the rental fee must be made before the equipment is collected.
7.2 A refundable security deposit may be required, which will be returned upon inspection of the equipment after it is returned.
7.3 The Dive Centre reserves the right to deduct repair or replacement costs from the security deposit if the equipment is returned damaged.

8. Cancellations and Refunds
8.1 Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the rental period will be eligible for a full refund.
8.2 No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 24 hours of the rental period or for unused equipment.

9. Compliance with Diving Regulations
9.1 The Renter agrees to comply with all local, national, and international diving laws and regulations.
9.2 The Renter must not dive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair their ability to dive safely.

10. Indemnity
The Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Dive Centre, its employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or losses arising from the use of the rented equipment, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or death.

11. Termination
The Dive Centre reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement at any time if the Renter fails to comply with these terms and conditions.

12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from this agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
