Entry Level: PADI TEC 40
The PADI TEC 40 course is where you transition from recreational diving to technical diving. It’s a natural progression from TEC Basics, or it can be your first step into the technical diving realm. This course introduces you to:
- Limited decompression diving
- Using enriched air nitrox
- Basic technical diving equipment configuration
- Emergency procedures specific to technical diving
Intermediate Level: PADI TEC 45
Building on TEC 40 skills, the TEC 45 course extends your capabilities further, allowing for longer decompression dives and more advanced gas management techniques.
Advanced Level: PADI TEC 50
The TEC 50 course represents the pinnacle of the standard technical diving progression, qualifying you for deeper technical dives with extended decompression obligations.
Going Further
The training doesn’t have to stop there. Technical skills, knowledge and techniques are honed further in the TEC 65 and TEC 90 courses or enter the world of Closed Circuit Rebreathers (CCR) with the TEC 40 CCR, TEC 60 CCR and TEC 100 CCR courses.
Comprehensive Training Options
For those committed to the full technical diving journey, comprehensive course packages allow you to take all three key technical diving courses (TEC 40 + TEC 45 + TEC 50) back-to-back, culminating in the PADI Tec Deep Diver certification.
Instructor Pathway
