Details:
Blue Ocean Diving is delighted to be able to offer adventure seekers and manta lovers this incredible trip of a lifetime on a Maldives Liveaboard.
Join us on board the M/Y Blue Voyager where you will be an active part of the Manta Ray Expedition, seeking out and diving in the Maldives with the largest population of manta rays recorded anywhere in the world!

Our adventure begins at the Huvadhoo Atoll where we travel across the Equator to the isolated atoll of Fuvahmulah (also known as Foammulah) before heading to the southern-most atoll of Addu.

A domestic flight will then take us to the very far south of the Maldives – an area described as “the new Maldives”. We will then settle onto our luxurious Maldives Liveaboard and prepare to dive!
Here is where you have the opportunity to dive in the Maldives with schooling sharks, vast schools of fish and squadrons of eagle rays. The spectular hard coral reefs are packed with the most incredible colour and fantastic critters. And as if that is not enough you’ll be at the heart of the manta points too!
This Maldives Liveaboard offers exciting diving for experienced divers with adventure in mind.
Divers must be PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent, have a minimum of 50 logged dives and experience in diving in currents. We also strongly recommend Nitrox and Deep specialties in order to get the most out of your manta experience.
Dates:
1st – 11th March 2023
Price:
From £2549 per person plus flights
The Location:

The Maldivian Archipelago lies south west of Sri Lanka and India with a chain of 26 atolls.
Located on a vast submarine mountain range in the Indian Ocean known as the Chagos–Laccadive Ridge, together with the Chagos Archipelago and Lakshadweep the Maldives forms a terrestrial ecoregion spanning an average of 90,000 square kilometres.

The 26 double chained atolls are made up of 1,192 islands and with maximum and average ground levels of only 2.4 metres, it is the lowest country in the world.
Diving in the Maldives is comfortable and perfect for warm water divers. The Maldives has a tropical monsoon climate and its low elevation means that it is constantly hot and often quite humid. The average temperature in March is a warm and lovely 31°C, thank you very much indeed!

If you need any more excuses to dive in the Maldives, we can provide them!
Diving in the Maldives will find you amidst the spectacular coral reefs which are home to 1,100 species of fish, 5 species of sea turtle and 21 species of whale and dolphin.

But the major attraction in this luxury destination is the opportunity to dive with the huge population of reef manta rays, the largest recorded anywhere in the world.
Reef manta rays are typically 3 metres in disc width with some reaching approximately 5 metres and may live to at last 50 years old!

The Accommodation:

The first Blue O Two fleet vessel in the Maldives, M/Y Blue Voyager was built specifically for divers and originally sailed in the Red Sea. She underwent a major refurbishment in 2015 before relocating to the Maldives with further updates in the summer of 2016 and 2017.
M/Y Blue Voyager welcomes 26 divers on board with spacious modern comfort, providing the best Maldivian diving experience.

M/Y Blue Voyager is a 37m, steel-hulled vessel that boasts three roomy double cabins and ten twin cabins. She features an indoor dining area, a bar and sky lounge, as well as a Jacuzzi.

A shaded outdoor lounge area can be found on the Mid Deck. There are four different sun decks and a viewing deck located at the front of both the Mid Deck and Upper Deck.
There is also an open air deck on the Top Deck and an ocean deck at the stern of the boat, all providing comfortable seating and loungers.

The ocean deck is a unique feature allowing guests to relax in the open air while close to the water.
On many evenings the flood lights will illuminate the water just off the ocean deck to attract plankton which brings the manta rays and whale sharks.
There have been many close sightings of feeding mantas and whale sharks. Have your camera ready!

One of the most outstanding features of M/Y Blue Voyager is the custom-built dhoni (diving suport vessel) Blue Shadow.
This brand new 19m dhoni is spacious, fast, and equipped with all the modern conveniences that divers want.

Each diver has their own station with plenty of space store their gear and kit up. The dhoni crew are always on hand and ready to assist.
During the journeys to and from the dive sites, you can ascend the small stairs to the top deck to enjoy the sun and stunning views.

There is a toilet with shower located inside the main deck and two handheld showers on the back deck.
There are separate camera and equipment rinse tanks.
A fast engine, two generators and two compressors with a nitrox membrane system mean you will enjoy a first-rate diving experience in the Maldives.
