
Club membership is mandatory to participate in any activity organised through or by Blue Ocean Diving or the Scubaholics Dive Team including :
UK Dive Trips, Training Courses, Foreign Holidays, Equipment Rental, Equipment Servicing, Social Events & Special Offers.
It is assumed that everyone participating in club activities agrees to the published Terms & Conditions as outlined below.
Club Membership
Membership year runs Jan 1st – Dec 31st each year
Continued membership of the club is discretionary.
Membership cards remain the property of Scubaholics Dive Team
Lost cards will incur a £7.50 replacement fee
Terms & Conditions may be changed at any time by Scubaholics Dive Team & Blue Ocean Diving
Membership cards must be produced for all offers & for booking trips
All offers and benefits are subject to availability
Special Offers cannot be combined unless specifically identified
Advanced booking is required to attend ALL events & trips
Club Members participate in all events & activities entirely at their own risk, and release all other parties involved from any liability for any loss or injury occurring. [ie Blue Ocean Diving Ltd, Scubaholics Dive Team Ltd, Staff and other club members]
Members must inform the club of any change in address/email/telephone
Members must maintain their qualifications/skills by diving regularly and/or participating in skills review practise or training.
All Members must follow standard safe diving practices of their training agency (PADI-BSAC-SAA-SSI-TDI-IANTD etc)
We at Blue Ocean Diving work hard to organise and co-ordinate diving activities so that everyone can have fun under water. We provide premium customer service with all associated risk management, insurance cover, logistical support, and adherence to strict legal requirements.
In order to protect the club and the business interests, we request that during active membership, Club members do not instigate any activity which is in direct competition with products and services provided by Blue Ocean Diving. This includes the organisation and conduct of any dive trips and holidays which are in direct competition with BOD activities. Club members are also restricted from providing training to existing BOD customers or fellow members on an independent basis in direct competition with Blue Ocean Diving Ltd.
Club members are also required not to contact or solicit existing customers, fellow club members, staff or associates of BOD in an effort to gain their custom in direct competition.
Any club member found to be violating these terms and conditions will have membership terminated with immediate effect.
These restrictions continue to apply for a period of 12 months after membership has been terminated by either party.
Holidays
Club membership is mandatory to participate in any diving activity
Customers must provide full passport & insurance details at time of booking.
Passports must have at least 6 months date remaining on return date of trip.
Booking is secured by payment of deposit for all Holidays : £250 is required on CREDIT CARD to provide payment protection – balances are only accepted on Debit Card.
Deposits vary depending on Tour Company requirements.£250 Deposit may be paid with credit cards at no charge.
Interim stage payments are due quarterly for most trips at 12-9-6 months pre departure.
Final balance is payable 3 months pre-trip.
All payments are non-refundable & non-transferrable.
Holiday insurance is recommended from time of booking in case of cancellation.
Holiday prices may change until full payment is received.
Holiday rates do not include Visa’s or local taxes unless identified.
Refunds for holidays will only be made at the discretion of the Tour Company it is booked through.
No refunds will be made if customers cancel trips within 30 days of travel.
No refund is possible once flights are ticketed.
Dive packs on holiday trips include tanks/air/weights : Nitrox Gas & Equipment hire is extra.
Divers must have the appropriate equipment including : Standard Scuba Equipment, Dive Computer, Knife, Torch, Delayed SMB & Reel, Compass and a Spares Kit.
Training Courses
Club membership is mandatory to participate in any Diving Course.
All courses must be booked in advance, full payment is made at time of booking.
Course can be cancelled by customers up to 7 days after booking for any reason, and refunds will be given but will incur a £25 admin fee.
Cancellations more than 7 days after booking will receive credit notes valid for 6 months, and will incur a £25 admin fee.
Students failing to attend pre-booked dates (No-Shows) will be treated as cancellations – forfeiting all fees and special offers pertaining to the booking : NB this applies to DSD/Try-Dives and deals on Open Water courses too.
Refunds will be given on Training Materials if returned unused in the original packaging accompanied by the receipt of purchase from Blue Ocean Diving. (see refunds section under Equipment Purchases below)
Course dates can be re-arranged with at least 14 days notice at no cost.
Student cancellation or re-arrangement of training with less than 7 days notice of course start date incurs a £100 charge, unless for medical reasons supported by a doctor’s certificate.
If courses are re-arranged by Blue Ocean Diving and the Scubaholics Dive Team due to Weather or Logistical reasons, alternative dates will be given in the 3 subsequent months. If students cannot make these dates then credit notes will be issued.
Students must complete the necessary knowledge development homework prior to all training courses – failure to come prepared to class will result in postponement and a £100 charge
Children (10-15yrs) are welcome to participate in Pool Training providing they have the physical, intellectual and behavioural maturity to do so as determined by the Scubaholics Dive Team Instructors & Parents in discussion.
Children may only participate in Qualifying Dives in the UK when environmental conditions are favourable: normally restricted to June-Sept when the water is warmer. Children are welcome to complete qualifying dives on Holiday trips planned for school holidays.
Students must have their own Mask & Snorkel, Fins & Boots (and Gloves Oct-May), as well as a suitable Log binder to protect dive training documentation.
Scuba Equipment (BCD, Wetsuit, Regulators, Tanks & Weights) is supplied for all recreational courses.
UK Dives
Club membership is mandatory to participate in any diving activity.
Advanced booking is required to attend ALL events & trips – Full payment of trip fees is required at time of booking.
Members must dive within their qualifications and experience levels – and must dive with all appropriate equipment for UK conditions.
Standard UK Dive kit must include Dive Computer, Torch, Knife/Cutting Tool, SMB & Reel, Compass., Hood & Gloves.
Members must also ensure the have CORRECT WEIGHT to dive in the Sea – please ask if you are unsure.
Spaces are limited on all UK Dive Trips members understand that booking a space limits access for others, and so must commit to the trip.
Demand is high for popular UK Dive Trips – we regularly have to turn people away as trips are fully booked.
Member cancellation of UK Dive Trips with less than 28 days notice forfeits the fees unless your place is filled by a standby booking where available. If members cancel we will endeavour to fill the space but it will incur a £25 cancellation fee.
Member cancellation of UK Dive Trips with less than 14 days notice forfeits all fees.
Refunds will be given when trips are cancelled by Blue Ocean Diving/Scubaholics Dive Team.
For UK Dive trips running on Dive Charter Boats, if dives are cancelled due to safety or weather concerns (or boat problems) – refunds will be given to members when the Boat operator makes them.
Equipment Rental
Proof of appropriate qualification is necessary to rent any diving equipment.
Divers renting equipment accept full responsibility for the care and maintenance, and must return it in full working order, or will forfeit all or part of the deposit held.
Equipment rentals must be pre-booked and paid for in advance.
Equipment returned later than the agreed date will be charged at the daily rate
Deposits will be held against the safe return at the retail value of the equipment.
Equipment Servicing
Standard servicing turn-around on most items is 14 days, most often it is quicker – in unusual cases it may be longer.
Customers should contact the Dive Centre to ensure serviced items are ready for collection.
– Blue Ocean Diving can not call you to inform you it’s ready.
Estimates are given as a guide – usually the actual cost comes in less, however on occasion it could be more – significant issues will be notified.
Items not collected within one month of it being ready for collection will incur a £10/week storage fee.
Equipment Purchases
If a customer has a “change of mind” – any item can be returned unused in the original packaging accompanied by the receipt of purchase at Blue Ocean Diving within 14 days for a refund. A 4% surcharge will be applied to refunds where the purchase was made by credit card.
Items returned unused in the original packaging accompanied by the receipt for of purchase at Blue Ocean Diving after 14 days purchase will receive credit notes valid for 6 months.
No refunds will be given after 1 month from purchase date.
All Vouchers, Credit Notes and Gift Certificates are valid for 6 months.
Any item purchased on a “Price Match” or on “Instructor Discount” has standard manufacturer’s warranties – but the customer covers all Postage & Packaging costs of returns to manufacturer.
Any item purchased on a “Price Match” or on “Instructor Discount” will incur a 2% charge if paid for on credit cards ( not debit cards ).
Minimum transaction by credit or debit cards is £10.
The Terms & Conditions set out above for Club Membership, UK Dive Trips, Foreign Dive Holidays, Training Courses, Equipment Servicing & Purchases from Blue Ocean Diving and the Scubaholics Dive Team do not affect your statutory rights.
