Course Details
The PADI Rescue Diver Course is an absolute must to make you the most reliable and safe diver, buddy and surface support you could possibly be.
Rescue Diver training is SERIOUS FUN, but it is also hard work. Everybody who takes the programme comments how challenging and thoroughly rewarding it is.
We teach you everything you need to know – but hope that you’ll never need to use it…
The course focuses on problem recognition and prevention, as well as handling the worst possible scenarios that can happen in a diving environment.
If you completed the EFR course – you’ll most likely want to join the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty which runs on the Sunday morning 10am-12:30pm - in preparation for the Rescue Diver program….
During the PADI Rescue Diver course, you will work with a senior instructor in the classroom from 1-3pm.
We then move the course to the pool from 4-7pm, where we will cover skill development.
Then we spend a day at the lakes putting it all into practise through training scenarios which are challenging and FUN!
Over two Sundays you build the skills and confidence to handle diving emergencies such as those detailed below:
- Tired diver at the surface
- Diver panic at the surface
- Distressed diver underwater
- Emergency management
- Missing diver searches
- Response from boat/shore
- Surfacing the unconscious diver
- In water artificial ventilation
- Exiting the unconscious diver
- First Aid for pressure-related injuries
These training sessions give you the opportunity to put your new skills into practice through realistic training emergency scenarios.
Through them, you will receive feedback on your performance and have a lot of fun too!
Knowledge development is through a combination of self-study e-learning and instructor discussion.
There is a multi-choice exam to assess your understanding.
An excellent course for anybody who dives regularly – and a must if you plan to dive without professional supervision.
Many people consider that training for recreational diving is incomplete without passing the PADI Rescue Diver course.
Qualification as a PADI Rescue Diver with Blue Ocean Diving is a prerequisite for many extra dive club benefits that come with Platinum Club Membership.
Completing the PADI Rescue qualification is a core prerequisite in every diver’s route towards the elite Master Scuba Diver award.
This award is achieved by only 2% of the world’s diver’s.
